At both Advisory sessions in April, GRMS 8th graders participated in a Water Walk Relay to raise awareness about the global water crisis. After learning how millions of people—especially women and girls—walk miles each day to collect water for basic needs at both Advisory sessions in March, this call to action provided students with a small but powerful glimpse into the daily realities faced by communities with limited access to clean water—both globally and here in the U.S.
Although walking about 60 meters with two gallons of water was not a tough feat for these students, it opened their eyes to imagine what it would be like having to walk much farther and for longer distances on a daily basis. Swipe to see photos of our students in action!
