Delayed Opening & Early Dismissal
Family Notification
Families will be notified via School Messenger in the event of a change to the school schedule. This will be the primary means of communication regarding any change to the school schedule.

Web Posting
A banner will appear across the district's website in the event of a delayed opening or early dismissal. If needed, additional details will be posted here that are beyond the message scope of School Messenger. In the event of a wide-spread emergency encompassing a large service area for School Messenger, it is possible that voice and data messages could be delayed in the company's queue. Routinely checking the website is a good practice as a backup during known emergencies.
Social Media
Depending on the nature of the schedule change, the district may also post to Facebook and Instagram.

Middle School and High School
Delayed Opening Schedules
In the event of a Delayed Opening, all schools will operate on a two-hour delay. Glen Rock Middle and High School will begin at 9:50 a.m. and all elementary schools will begin at 10:33 a.m. The Early Childhood Program will begin at 10:20 a.m.
Community School preschool 3-year-old and pre-K are in session with the same delayed opening as the elementary schools. Adult classes at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church are canceled. Beforecare is also canceled.
Early Dismissal Schedules
All schools will open at their normal time. Middle and High School dismissal will be at 12:26 p.m. and the Elementary school dismissal at 12:33 p.m. The Early Childhood Program will dismiss at 12 p.m.
Community School Preschool 3-year-old and pre-K classes will be dismissed at 11:30. Afternoon student and adult classes and programs are canceled for the day. Aftercare is cancelled and all after-school and evening events, athletics, and co-curricular activities are also cancelled.
District Closure
All classes for all schools are cancelled for the day. All before-school, after-school and evening activities and programs are cancelled. All Glen Rock Community School classes and aftercare are cancelled.
Community School Delayed Openings, Early Closings, and School Closures
Early Dismissal related to Aftercare: If the school closes early due to inclement weather or for any other reason, aftercare will be closed. During hybrid schedule and on half days (early dismissal), aftercare will be closed.
Related to Preschool: Delayed Openings, Early Closings, and School Closures
Preschool will have a delayed opening, early closing, or school closure due to weather or emergency when Glen Rock Public Schools does. Announcements related to these situations will come via a Honeywell call. The Preschool Director will send an email.
