Kindergarten Registration Process
Kindergarten registration for the 2026-27 school year will be open February 2-22, 2026. Children must be 5 years of age on or before October 1, 2026 in order to register. Proof of residency documents are required at the time of registration; no exceptions!
All residences in the Borough are considered part of ONE residential zone for Kindergarten through Grade 5 placement. There are no individual school zones around neighborhood schools. Please note that school assignments will not be made based on the proximity of the child’s residence to an elementary school. Instead, school placements will be determined through a process that seeks to balance enrollment numbers across all four elementary schools, taking into consideration the presence of siblings and special needs of the student, if applicable.

Completed registration packets must be submitted via email to [email protected] with the child’s name in the subject line during the registration window posted above. The District Registrar will confirm receipt of each packet. If you do not receive the confirmation email within 2-3 business days, please email the Registrar, Mrs. Barbora Scheer-Nutland, at [email protected]. If you prefer to drop off the completed registration packet in person, please contact the Registrar in advance to make arrangements.
Placement
Families who complete Kindergarten registration by the deadline will be notified of their child’s placement mid-May 2026. Families who register on or after the deadline will receive their child’s placement letter in the summer. Future announcements will be made regarding the date and time of Kindergarten Orientation at all four elementary schools.
