The 2024-2025 Bergen County Teacher of the Year at Richard E. Byrd Elementary School is Kindergarten teacher, Ms. Karen Costello!
Ms. Costello has demonstrated her effectiveness as an exemplary educator, colleague, and community member throughout her many years at Byrd. She has high expectations for her students, and her young learners love her dearly. Spend one minute in her classroom and you feel the love she and her students have for each other. Ms. Costello is actively involved in all goings-on at Byrd and never hesitates to show up for a student or a staff member. Congratulations, Ms. Costello!
