With a 24-0 season, a 4th straight State Sectional Title, and the first State title in 25 years, the 2025 Glen Rock Girls Tennis Team is making history! To cap off an incredible season, the Panthers were named NJIC Team of the Year, ranked #10 in NJ, and Coach Matt was honored as NJ Girls Tennis Coach of the Year!
On October 14, the Glen Rock High School Girls Tennis Team, seeded first, faced second-seed Pascack Hills in the Group 1 North Sectional Final. The Panthers entered the match after defeating Sussex Tech and Ramsey 5-0 in the earlier rounds. Playing with great intensity, Glen Rock once again swept Pascack Hills 5-0 to advance to the State Semifinals and Finals at Mercer County Park.
At singles, Keira Lin ’26, Lily Cole ’27, and Sofie Nakon ’29 each won in straight sets, as did the doubles teams of Isabella Lin ’27/Elizabeth Shulkin ’28 and Sophia Lehr ’26/Sara Quiroz ’27.
On October 16, the team traveled to Mercer County to compete for the Group 1 State Championship. In the semifinals, Glen Rock defeated New Providence 5-0—a decisive victory against the team that bested them in last year’s final. The Panthers carried that momentum into the championship match, where they defeated Whippany Park 4-1 to capture Glen Rock’s first State Title in 25 years.
