* Bergen County is now in the “High Risk” activity level per the CALI score. This requires contact tracing and quarantining of close contacts of people with COVID-like symptoms, see page 13 of the NJDOH Recommendations for K-12 Schools.

District Contact Tracers will contact you within 24 hours or soon thereafter, and provide you with quarantine instructions if your child was in close contact (meaning closer than 6 feet for a cumulative of 15 minutes or more within a 24-hour period) of someone who tested positive for COVID-19. If you are given quarantine instructions, your child will need to stay home for any in-person instructional days during the quarantine period, starting with the date of exposure. Parents should contact their child’s teacher or principal regarding instruction during the quarantine period.

Parents, students and staff will be notified if any new positive COVID-19 case causes us to make a change to our school schedule.

We understand the level of concern regarding COVID-19. We encourage parents and students to continue following the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention promoted safeguards, such as:

  • Staying home when you are sick
  • Washing hands often with soap for at least 20 seconds
  • Covering coughs and sneezes and properly disposing of tissues
  • Limiting close contact with people who are sick and not sharing food, drinks and utensils
  • Practicing social distancing (staying at least 6 feet apart)
  • Wearing a face covering while in school
  • Continuing to monitor your health for symptoms
