Glen Rock Public Schools is celebrating outstanding results in the U.S. News & World Report 2026–2027 school rankings, with schools across the district earning places among the top-performing schools in New Jersey.

Every school in the district ranked within the top 11% statewide, an extraordinary reflection of Glen Rock’s commitment to academic achievement and student success. The rankings recognize the academic achievement of Glen Rock students and the dedication of teachers, administrators, staff, and families whose collective efforts help students thrive academically and beyond. 

Glen Rock High School earned an overall score of 96.41 out of 100, ranking #39 among 415 New Jersey high schools—an exciting improvement from last year’s already impressive #48 ranking. This places Glen Rock High School in approximately the top 9% of high schools statewide and at #45 among high schools in the New York metropolitan area. It also places GRHS among the highest-ranked traditional public high schools in Bergen County, with only three others ranking higher. The continued rise in the rankings reflects the school’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence and student success.

Glen Rock Middle School earned an impressive overall score of 94.34 out of 100, ranking #41 among 708 New Jersey middle schools. This places Glen Rock Middle School in approximately the top 6% of middle schools statewide, putting it among the highest-ranked middle schools in New Jersey. 

Glen Rock’s elementary schools also earned strong rankings among the 1,338 elementary schools evaluated in the state. Alexander Hamilton Elementary School ranked #8 in New Jersey, placing it in approximately the top 1% statewide, with an overall score of 99.48 out of 100. Richard E. Byrd Elementary School ranked #42 in New Jersey, placing it in approximately the top 3% statewide, with an overall score of 96.93 out of 100. Clara E. Coleman Elementary School ranked #101 in the state, placing it in approximately the top 8% statewide, with an overall score of 92.52 out of 100. Central Elementary School ranked #147, placing it in approximately the top 11% statewide, with an overall score of 89.08 out of 100.

“These rankings are a wonderful reflection of the commitment to excellence that exists throughout Glen Rock Public Schools,” said Mr. Gregory Van Nest, Acting Superintendent of Schools. “Our students continue to demonstrate what they can accomplish when they are supported by talented and committed educators, engaged families, and a community that values education. We are incredibly proud of the accomplishments of our students and staff at every level of the district.”

Rankings are only one way to measure the impact of a school, but they offer an encouraging snapshot of the strong outcomes being achieved across Glen Rock Public Schools. More importantly, these results reflect the daily work happening in classrooms, the dedication of educators and staff, and the support of families and the broader community.

As the district celebrates this year’s recognition, it remains focused on what matters most: continuing to challenge and inspire students, supporting their growth, and providing them with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities they need to succeed. The 2026–27 rankings are a meaningful milestone for the district and a testament to those who make these achievements possible.
